This is a great article I really enjoyed reading ( metalgearscholar.blogspot.com/2009/08/why-metal-gear-solid-2-is-best-game-in.html). Tyler says a lot of what I always thought about Metal Gear Solid 2, and what I always liked about the game. And just like his first article he points things that I'd never thought of, particularly about Ocelot. His article goes hand in hand nicely with the extensive analysis of MGS2 by James Clinton Howell ( www.deltaheadtranslation.com/MGS2/DOTM_TOC.htm). What do you think about Tyler's MGS2 manifesto? There are still a lot of MGS3 lovers out there. MGS2's story just does it for me, though. Gotta love it.

Okay, so I wasn't going to join the message board but I figure why not, especially if I (or rather, my works) are to be discussed here.
It's obvious there's a lot of love for this game coming through in the essay. I like how you said my essay went well with the Driving Off The Map analysis; I read that after posting on the comments page that it was my favorite piece about MGS2 that I have encountered thus far.
I would definitely be happy to answer any questions concerning the games, the essays, or whatever else in general -- except the question of "which game is your favorite" as I think I will let my writings lead you to that answer.

Whatever, I don't know if anybody actually wants to use this thing. It was free, so why not? I don't actually know anything about forums, so I don't know if the mainframe is any good or anything. Figured I'd give it a shot, y'know?
Are you going to be doing essays for Snake Eater and Guns of the Patriots?

Yeah I'm not much of a message board/forum guy, especially when it becomes the main focus as opposed to a part of the website. As such, The Snake Soup gets really old really fast for me. I came across it earlier this year, read all the articles and kept up with the news during exciting Metal Gear times, so now it's kind of flat for me.
And to answer your question: of course. But you forgot Portable Ops...

And to answer your question: of course. But you forgot Portable Ops... Portable Ops - a good game. There's a lot of hate for it, generally because it's not actually Metal Gear, but I actually enjoyed Gene as a character. Not exactly a fully satisfying gameplay experience, but a "misstep" that I can forgive. It's not that bad.

You know, as the administrator of a Metal Gear website, you're really not supposed to say things like that.
But I think I understand. I mean, we're allowed to like non-MG games right? So if you'd regularly play a game like Portable Ops with or without the Metal Gear tag on it, go right ahead I say.
But just in case any future members want to go back to the original topic of this thread... back to that now. Except I have nothing to say.

What are you saying, that I'm not supposed to have any opinions? ;D
